How do you read the Mighty K9 label?
Tap a number on the panel to see what that line means.
- Brand name
MIGHTY K9, Canine Supplements: the brand wordmark. The label image names no manufacturer or facility.
- Label photo
A spaniel resting its chin on the panel. Artwork, not a promise of results.
- Serving size
Per 2 mL serving, 30 servings per container. One 60 mL bottle lasts 30 days at one serving a day.
- Protein, fat, fiber, moisture
Crude protein (min) 0%, crude fat (min) 100%, crude fiber (max) 0%, moisture (max) under 0.1%. In plain words: it is all oil.
- ESS60 amount
ESS60 1.6 mg per 2 mL serving. A full bottle holds 48 mg.
- The asterisk
Not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles. AAFCO rules require this note for any guaranteed substance outside its nutrient list.
- Calories
8,100 kcal ME per kg, or 16.2 kcal per 2 mL serving. That matches pure olive oil.
- Ingredients
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, ESS60 and Bacon Flavor, in order of weight. No amount is printed for the bacon flavor.
A guaranteed analysis is the fact panel on pet foods and many pet supplements. It gives minimums for crude protein and fat, maximums for fiber and moisture, the ingredients by weight and the calories (AAFCO, Reading labels).
Line by line
What does each line of the Mighty K9 Guaranteed Analysis mean?
Each line is a minimum or a maximum. Read together, they describe an oil.
| Label line | What it says | What it means for your dog |
|---|---|---|
| Crude Protein (Min) | 0% | No protein is promised. Olive oil has none. |
| Crude Fat (Min) | 100% | The liquid is fat. Every serving is oil. |
| Crude Fiber (Max) | 0% | No fiber at all. |
| Moisture (Max) | Under 0.1% | Almost no water, which suits an oil. |
| ESS60* | 1.6 mg | The C60 ingredient: 48 mg per bottle. The asterisk marks it as a non-essential nutrient. |
| Calorie Content (calculated) | 8,100 kcal ME/kg; 16.2 kcal ME per 2 mL | Energy a dog can use. One serving is about the calories of a small treat. |
| Ingredients | Extra Virgin Olive Oil, ESS60 and Bacon Flavor | In order of weight. Olive oil is nearly all of it. |
"Crude" names the lab method. It measures total fat or protein, not quality.
Crude fat
Why is crude fat listed at a minimum of 100%?
Because the product is oil. A minimum of 100% fat means the brand guarantees the whole liquid tests as fat. ESS60 and the flavor are present in amounts far too small to move that number.
Each serving is pure fat, so dogs with a pancreatitis history or on a low-fat diet need their vet's okay first (AKC, Pancreatitis). The fat itself is covered on the olive oil page.
The asterisk
What does the asterisk next to ESS60 mean?
The asterisk leads to this note: "Not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles." AAFCO rules require that note for any guaranteed substance that is not on its list of dog nutrients (AAFCO, Model regulations).
It is a standard label rule, not a warning and not an endorsement. It tells you dogs have no known dietary need for C60.
Many pet products hide their key ingredient in a blend with no amount. Mighty K9 prints the ESS60 amount per serving. That makes it easy to compare with the research, which you can read on the ESS60 page.

What does 8,100 kcal ME/kg mean on a dog label?
ME stands for metabolizable energy: the calories a dog can actually use, stated as fed (AAFCO, Model regulations). Pet labels give it per kilogram, and often per serving as well (AAFCO, Reading labels).
The more useful figure is per serving: 16.2 kcal in 2 mL, or 486 kcal per bottle.
Does 16.2 kcal check out?
Weigh the serving
USDA puts olive oil at about 0.91 g per mL (USDA, Olive oil). So 2 mL is about 1.8 g.
Apply USDA calories
Olive oil has 884 kcal per 100 g. 1.8 g times 8.84 kcal per gram is about 16 kcal.
Compare with the label
The label says 16.2 kcal. Nearly every calorie in the serving comes from the oil.
The two label figures match only if 2 mL is counted as 2 g. Olive oil is lighter than water, so use the per-serving number.
Pet vs human
How is a Guaranteed Analysis different from a Supplement Facts panel?
A human supplement carries a Supplement Facts panel under the dietary supplement law. FDA says that law does not apply to animal products, which are regulated as animal food or animal drugs (FDA, Pet food regulation).
| Feature | Pet Guaranteed Analysis (Mighty K9) | Human Supplement Facts |
|---|---|---|
| Rules come from | Animal feed law; AAFCO model rules adopted by states | The dietary supplement law (DSHEA) |
| Main numbers | Minimums and maximums for protein, fat, fiber, moisture | Exact amount of each nutrient per serving |
| Percent Daily Value | Not used | Shown for most nutrients |
| Non-nutrient ingredients | Marked with an asterisk note | Listed with no Daily Value |
| Calories | kcal ME per kg, plus per serving | Per serving |
| Ingredient list | All ingredients by weight | Active ingredients in the panel, other ingredients below |
| FDA review before sale | No | No |
Neither panel proves a product works. Read more in dog supplement labels explained.
Not on the label
What does the Mighty K9 label not show?
The label images do not show a manufacturer, a lot number, a best-by date, directions or warnings. Some of that may be printed on the bottle itself, and the rest lives on the sales page.
A brand badge says "Manufacture in USA" but names no facility. The seller codes MK-26/GO-8585 and MK-8585-26-GO are references, not lab proof. No storage line is printed, so keep the bottle closed, dark and away from heat. The table below types out every readable line and marks the gaps.

FAQ
Mighty K9 Guaranteed Analysis FAQ
What is the guaranteed analysis on a dog supplement?
A guaranteed analysis is the fact panel on pet foods and pet supplements. It lists minimum crude protein and fat, maximum fiber and moisture, the ingredients by weight and the calories. On Mighty K9, it covers one 2 mL serving and shows the liquid is essentially all fat.
Why does Mighty K9 have 0% protein?
Because it is oil. Olive oil contains no protein, and the label lists crude protein at a minimum of 0%. Mighty K9 is an add-on to a complete diet, not a food.
What does 8,100 kcal ME/kg mean on the Mighty K9 label?
It means kilocalories of metabolizable energy per kilogram, the energy a dog can actually use from the product as fed. Mighty K9 lists 8,100 kcal ME/kg and, more usefully, 16.2 kcal ME per 2 mL serving.
Why is ESS60 marked with an asterisk?
AAFCO rules require an asterisk note for any guaranteed substance that is not on its list of essential dog nutrients. On Mighty K9 it reads: not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles. It is a label rule, not a warning.
Does the Mighty K9 label show a lot number?
The label images do not show a lot number or best-by date. Check the base of the bottle. If you cannot find them, call the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480.
Does the Mighty K9 label name the manufacturer?
The label images do not name a manufacturer. A brand badge says "Manufacture in USA," but no facility or city is printed. This site is run by Gomightyk9, an authorized Mighty K9 shop, not the maker. Ask the order desk if you need the manufacturer's name.
Does Mighty K9 have a Supplement Facts label?
No. Mighty K9 uses a Guaranteed Analysis, the panel used on animal foods. FDA says the human dietary supplement law does not apply to animal products, so pet supplements follow animal feed label rules instead.
